About Me & Contact Information

Hi, I'm Melody. I'm clearly a plant hoarder. You can email me about whatever at (Remove the underscores) ---->   Hooray_Plants_@gmail.com.

You can also find me on Instagram, username @melody11
On carnivorous plant forums (The CP Forum, The Sarracenia Forum etc.) username: taargus

I'm attempting to successfully grow many things in an apartment in New York State Florida with my wonderfully tolerant husband and two plant eating cats. It wasn't easy trying to grow the plants I do in NY, now it's a challenge to relearn how to grow things in a new environment. I can grow a ton more outside now, but still use my terrariums and grow tent. I like the strange looking plants and the more difficult you say it is, the more I want to try it.

This all started innocently enough with a Venus Fly Trap from a garden center. That was about 9 years ago now. I think my problem really started when researching information about how to take care of my cool new plant. The internet is a great and awful resource. I found way too many things I also really liked and wanted to grow.

Today I participate in a few forums and make lots of trades. This is how I ended up with half the plants I have. Plant people, (especially Sarracenia growers) are very generous people. Many of my plants are seedling size or juvenile, as I prefer to grow something to maturity myself. Watching something flower for the first time after years of caring for it has taught me how to have a little bit of patience. It's also a lot cheaper way to get things you want! I love trading so feel free to send me an email if I've stated I have more than one of something on my Growlist, or it's something that can easily be divided. I'm also willing to sell my extras if you're looking to expand your collection cheaply, but don't happen to have anything to trade. I may make a page for sales/trades in the future, but in the mean time, please feel free to send me an email.

Hopefully you enjoy reading about other people's plants and the ways they grow them as much as I do, and I can keep you somewhat entertained with my successes and failures. Comments, suggestions, questions, and even criticisms are always welcome. Thank you for checking out my blog!
