Oh wow, that is soooooo cool! I've seen this one a couple of times before and it's definitely on the "Get List", I love the fangs on it, they look seriously sinister :D
Agreed, a plant with fangs looks much more sinister than it is! This is an easy one to please, it loves the hot, sticky weather. I put a fan out out the deck as there wasn't much air movement and I was concerned about rot, mold, etc, and I actually think this one was happier stewing in the stagnant swamp weather, lol!
Hey Ngeun! They're sharp, but not cactus sharp. No danger, I don't remember there being a scientific consensus as to why they produce fangs this way. Nectar drips down them, right above the pitcher's opening, so it would be a fair guess to think it's to help insects fall in, by attracting them, but being too slippery to hold on to?
